A horse stands next to a round napkin ring on an
oval
base. Very similar to the Knickerbocker napkin ring above. There is
another napkin ring by knickerbocker with a horse next to a round
napkin ring, but it on a rectangular base and is #1278. The
knickerbocker napkin rings all had the horse on the right side of the
napkin ring (looking at it from the front), where as this napkin ring
made by Columbia Silver Co #C110, has the horse on the left hand side.
I have researched the Columbia Silver Co.. It was in existence in the
1890's but there are no records of where it operated from.
The condition of this rare napkin ring good but it has significant
areas of silver plate loss (flaking).
2 x This is an extremely rare rearing horse figural napkin
ring. It is not marked as to maker or numbered.
NOT shown in the book by Gottschalk and Whitson's book "Figural napkin Rings: Collectors Identification and Value Guild",
so is RARE as it was not in their collection or that of their friends.
